Managed IT support

An IT department without the hire

Managed IT means one team takes responsibility for your computers, network, accounts and software, keeps them maintained and answers when your staff need help.

Updated October 2026

What managed IT actually covers

The term gets used loosely, so here is what it means with us. You pay a fixed monthly amount. In return, we look after the technology your business runs on and fix problems as they come up, without a separate bill for each call. The aim is fewer problems, not just faster fixes.

  • Help desk: your staff call, email or use a support portal. A technician who can see your systems picks it up, and routine requests like password resets, new user setups and printer trouble are included.
  • Monitoring: software on every computer and server reports disk space, failed updates, security alerts and hardware warnings around the clock. Many issues get fixed before anyone notices.
  • Patching: Windows, macOS and common business applications are updated on a schedule, tested and reported. That includes the browser and PDF tools that attackers target most.
  • Network: firewall, switches and Wi-Fi are configured, updated and watched. We keep guest Wi-Fi separate from your business network.
  • Vendor management: when the internet goes down, the copier misbehaves or your practice management software needs an update, we call the vendor and stay on it until it's fixed.
  • Hardware and licensing: we spec, order and set up new computers, track warranties and keep a list of what you own and what it costs.
  • Planning: a quarterly review with the owner or manager on what we fixed, what's aging out and what to budget for.

How it fits Cherokee County businesses

The county's business base is broad, and the details change by industry. A few patterns we see often:

  • Trades and construction: estimators and project managers rarely sit at a desk. They need laptops and phones that are set up the same way, file access from job sites, and a quick fix when a tablet won't sync plans. We manage mobile devices as carefully as office PCs.
  • Medical, dental and therapy offices: the front desk can't wait two days for a ticket. Imaging systems, practice management software and the phone system all have to work together, and patient data has to stay protected.
  • Accounting, legal and engineering firms: deadline seasons put the most strain on systems at the worst time. We plan updates and changes around your busy months, not into them.
  • Manufacturers and distributors: shop-floor PCs, label printers and machine controllers often can't be updated like office machines. We document them, isolate them on the network and plan around production.

Remote first, on site when it counts

Most help desk requests are resolved remotely, often while the person is still on the phone. When something needs hands, such as a failed switch, a new office build-out, or a move from one Woodstock suite to another, an engineer comes out from our Alpharetta office. We batch planned visits by area, so a client in Ball Ground or Nelson gets the same attention as one in Towne Lake.

A senior engineer replies to new inquiries within one business day. For clients, response targets are set out in your agreement, matched to how urgent the problem is.

Taking over from your current setup

Switching providers worries people more than it should. Before anything changes, we collect admin accounts, licenses, domain and DNS records, firewall details and vendor contacts. If you're leaving a provider, we coordinate with them directly. If a staff member has been doing IT on the side, we sit down with them and write down what they know, so it isn't lost when they go back to their real job.

Within the first month, we install monitoring on every device, fix the urgent items from the assessment, remove old accounts and give your staff a single way to ask for help. After that, it's steady maintenance, quarterly reviews and a clear record of what's been done.

What it costs

Pricing depends on how many people and devices you have and which services you include. After the assessment we give you a fixed monthly price in writing. Projects such as an office move or a server replacement are quoted separately, up front, so there are no surprise invoices.

Questions about managed it support

Do we have to replace our computers to start?

No. We start with what you have, note what is out of support or failing, and help you replace it on a schedule that fits your budget.

Can you support a second location or remote staff?

Yes. Many clients have a main office plus a satellite site, field crews or people working from home. We manage every device the same way, wherever it is.
